In her world, 99% of the younger generation are born with an ability called 'Iris'. It can be anything, from being able to see a person's past life, to seeing what's going to be eaten for dinner. However, it also created a rift between the younger and older generations. Asahi was born with the Iris to 'see through lies'. Ever since she was young, she could see devil tails growing on people, and she quickly realized it only happened when someone was lying. Since then, people being liars is the normal for her, and people who don't grow tails are the ones who are special.
